The
season opening game for Silsden Park Rangers was an uphill battle where they
were outclassed by a bigger, fitter and well drilled side from Emley Moor.
Silsden started the game well enough having the majority of the early
possession, however when ever Emley had the ball they looked threatening and it
wasn’t long before they opened their tally.
Silsden were however quick to respond with a penalty from the boot of
Andy Bowness. Emley then went on to
take control of the game with three quick tries.
Silsden we not done though and a break from John Williams following a
snatch from the scrum by Rick Greenwood near the Silsden posts caught Emley on
the back foot. Full back Steve Dent
was in close support and was able to out pace the Emley defence to score
Silsden’s only try, Andy Bowness adding the extras to take the score to 8 -
28.
